Background:
The Senior Research Fellow (SRF) will lead the planning, implementation, and evaluation of the Pacific Action for Climate Transitions (PACT) projects within FNU’s Research Office. The PACT Research Centre, a collaboration between Fiji National University and Monash University (Australia), focuses on strengthening climate resilience, climate finance systems, and institutional capacity in the region. The SRF will coordinate and manage multiple research projects, oversee data analysis, support teaching and supervision of graduate students, and contribute to academic publications and reports. The role includes managing multidisciplinary teams, budgets, timelines, and ensuring compliance with funding and ethical requirements while building partnerships with local, regional, and international stakeholders. The position requires strong analytical and project management skills, the ability to work independently and collaboratively, and a commitment to advancing climate research and sustainable development in Fiji. The appointee may be assigned to limited teaching and student supervision in a relevant disciplinary college. Appointment to this position will be tagged at Assistant Professor rank. Project will end on 31 December 2027.
