General Manager - South Pacific (Suva based)

JVK Pacific is a regional logistics and international moving company and are looking for a General Manager to manage its South Pacific business in Fiji, Tonga, Samoa, Vanuatu, Palau, Micronesia and Solomon Islands. The role will be based in Suva but will involve regular regional travel.

The role will include:

• Ensure compliance with all local employment/tax obligations for each of the branch offices
• Financial responsibility for the region and branch offices 
• Recruitment and training of branch office staff to industry and international standards
• Establish a business development plan for the region with responsibility for its implementation
• Create and/or develop operational capabilities across the South Pacific region
• Ensure  customer service levels are maintained in branch offices 

Required experience:

• Minimum 10 years management experience in the logistics/shipping/relocation/freight forwarding industry
• Demonstrable knowledge of conducting business within the south Pacific region
• Demonstrable experience in branch and/or regional accounting processes, specifically knowledge of VAT/GST processes and advance familiarity with accounting software and reports
• Be prepared for extensive travel
• Valid driving licence and passport required
• Good attention to detail
• Excellent communications skills needed
• Good personnel management skills
