The Role:
Strategic Procurement & Global Supplier Management
- Lead end-to-end procurement lifecycle, including supplier identification, technical evaluation, qualification, negotiation, and contract execution.
- Source products directly from manufacturers, particularly in China and Asia, ensuring cost competitiveness, quality assurance, and supply reliability.
- Conduct technical evaluation of supplier manufacturing capability, production capacity, quality control systems, and compliance with required specifications.
- Negotiate pricing, payment terms, minimum order quantities (MOQ), production timelines, and supply agreements.
- Establish long-term strategic partnerships with manufacturers, OEM suppliers, and distributors.
International Supply Chain & Import Coordination
- Manage international procurement logistics, including EXW, FOB, CIF, and DDP shipping arrangements.
- Coordinate container bookings, freight forwarding, customs clearance, and import documentation.
- Ensure compliance with import regulations, customs requirements, and product certification requirements in Fiji.
- Liaise with freight forwarders, customs agents, shipping lines, and regulatory authorities.
- Monitor and optimize lead times, logistics costs, and supply chain efficiency.
Procurement Planning & Inventory Optimization
- Develop procurement plans based on sales forecasts, consumption trends, and inventory analysis.
- Utilize ERP and inventory management systems to monitor stock levels and procurement requirements.
- Implement inventory optimization strategies, including reorder points, safety stock levels, and demand planning.
- Ensure continuous product availability while minimizing excess inventory and carrying costs.
Supplier Quality Assurance & Technical Compliance
- Establish supplier quality standards, product specifications, and acceptance criteria.
- Coordinate product sampling, technical evaluation, and quality inspections.
- Work with suppliers to resolve quality issues, manufacturing defects, and compliance requirements.
- Ensure compliance with applicable regulatory standards, product labeling requirements, and safety regulations.
Operational Management – SuperEats Division
- Manage day-to-day operational activities of the SuperEats Division, including procurement, product management, and supply coordination.
- Develop operational workflows and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
- Coordinate with warehouse, logistics, finance, and sales teams to ensure efficient operations.
- Monitor operational performance and implement process improvements.
Cost Analysis & Financial Control
- Perform cost analysis, landed cost calculations, and supplier price comparisons.
- Evaluate cost structures, including product cost, freight cost, customs duty, and operational cost.
- Identify and implement procurement cost reduction strategies.
- Prepare procurement budgets, cost reports, and performance analysis.
ERP Systems & Technical Systems Utilization
- Utilize ERP, procurement, and inventory management systems to manage procurement operations.
- Maintain accurate procurement records, supplier data, and purchase documentation.
- Analyze procurement data to improve efficiency and cost management.
Supplier Communication & Cross-Border Coordination
- Communicate effectively with overseas suppliers, particularly Chinese manufacturers.
- Interpret technical product specifications, manufacturing processes, and supplier documentation.
- Coordinate production schedules, quality inspections, and shipment planning.
Skills and Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related field;.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in procurement, supply chain management, or a related field, preferably within the food industry.
- Strong negotiation skills and experience managing supplier relationships.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Proficient in procurement software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
