Carpenters Shipping - Inventory Controller [Suva]

Job Description & Skills/Qualifications Required

Carpenters Shipping is a well-established shipping & forwarding Agency and heavy transport and logistics business. We are seeking to employ experienced and a proactive individual for the Inventory Controller role to be based in Suva.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Monitor and control inventory levels to ensure operational efficiency

  • Maintain accurate stock records using inventory management systems

  • Receive, check, and record incoming goods and materials

  • Issue stock to departments in line with authorised requests

  • Conduct regular stock counts and audits, investigating discrepancies

  • Coordinate with procurement and suppliers to replenish stock as required

  • Ensure proper storage, labelling, and handling of materials

  • Monitor slow-moving, obsolete, or damaged stock and report accordingly

  • Support compliance with health & safety and company procedures

  • Prepare inventory reports for management as required

Skills & Experience:

  • Previous experience in inventory control, stores, or warehouse operations

  • Strong organizational and attention-to-detail skills

  • Good IT skills, including stock control or ERP systems

  • Ability to work independently and manage priorities

  • Good communication skills and ability to work with multiple departments

  • Knowledge of logistics, shipping, or industrial environments is an advantage

  • Forklift license or similar (advantageous, if applicable)
