QUALITY ASSURANCE AND R & D MANAGER
About Us:
Southern Cross Foods Pte Limited is a subsidiary of CJ Patel Group of Companies and specializes in manufacturing production of extruded snacks and confectionery for Fiji and International markets and is also a co-manufacturer of Maggi Noodles for Nestle. We are seeking an experienced Quality Assurance and Resarch and Development Manager to lead and manage quality systems within our food manufacturing operations at Southern Cross Foods Pte Limited, Ba.
Role Description:
- Develop, implement, and maintain the site Quality Management System in line with food safety and regulatory requirements.
- Ensure compliance with HACCP, GMP, ISO 22000 / FSSC 22000, and relevant local and international food safety standards.
- Lead and oversee product quality, food safety, and hygiene practices across the manufacturing plant.
- Manage Critical Control Points (CCPs) and validation, verification, and monitoring activities.
- Conduct internal audits, supplier audits, and support external regulatory or certification audits.
- Investigate non-conformances, customer complaints, and quality incidents, implementing corrective and preventive actions.
- Work closely with Production, Engineering, Supply Chain, and NPD teams to drive quality and process improvements.
- Lead, train, and develop the QA and QC teams to ensure a strong quality culture.
- Review and approve specifications, SOPs, work instructions, and quality records.
- Ensure raw materials, packaging, and finished products meet defined quality standards.
Qualifications & Requirements:
- Degree in Food Science, Food Technology, Microbiology, Chemistry, or a related discipline.
- Minimum 5–7 years’ experience as quality assurance manager within a food or FMCG manufacturing environment.
- Strong working knowledge of HACCP, GMP, food safety regulations, and quality systems.
- Experience managing audits, inspections, and regulatory compliance.
- Proven leadership and team management capabilities.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- High attention to detail with the ability to work under pressure.
