Flight Planner
The Flight Planner is responsible for providing legally compliant and cost-effective flight plans by analysing weather, NOTAMs, MEL/CDL requirements, VA advisories, and other operational data in accordance with the Operations Manual Suite, Jeppesen manuals, and Aeronautical Publications. The role maintains Flight Watch and promptly communicates any meteorological, aeronautical, or NOTAM changes-and other operational risks-to the crew via radio or ACARS. The Flight Planner ensures full adherence to the OCC Charter and may also perform Load Controller duties when required, following the relevant job description and training.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Prepare and provide accurate Flight Plans to the operating crew by analyzing all meteorological, aeronautical and NOTAM information, and carry out the Flight Watch function.

Facilitate accurate calculations of aircraft take-off and landing weight performance under prevailing ambient conditions, in accordance with Regulatory and Company requirements.

Monitor Zero Fuel Weight (ZFW) changes and proactively prepare revised Flight Plans when ZFWT exceeds allowable limits.

Conduct comprehensive pre-flight briefings for pilots departing from Nadi, covering all aspects of the intended flight.

Ensure strict adherence to the Minimum Equipment List (MEL) and Configuration Deviation List (CDL) requirements at all times.

Provide accurate and timely information to pilots and Air Traffic Services via AFTN, ACARS, radio, or SATCOM as required for flight operations.

Ensure Flight Plans are delivered in a timely manner to support on-time performance.

Prepare Flight Plans in advance for adverse weather or restricted flights and notify relevant stakeholders of any payload restrictions or technical stop requirements.

Assist with determining the most suitable Flight Plan in the event of disruptions to minimize passenger inconvenience and seek approval for high-speed flight plans when required.

Ensure all significant events and outstanding action items are clearly handed over to the next shift for follow-up. Record all notifications provided to crew regarding significant changes.

Undertake any delegated responsibilities from the AMFP/MFPLC as required.

Report any abnormal situations through MO-D or Occurrence Reports (OR) for investigation.

Brief and/or assist the PIC regarding any applicable risks and their corresponding mitigations for the flight.
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

Commercial Pilots License - Navigation, Air Law and Meteorology subjects (or equivalent).

Experience Required Relevant industry experience with pass in Form 6.

Minimum Age requirment for Flight Planner is 21 years and above.
