Carpenters Shipping is a well-established shipping & forwarding Agency and heavy transport and logistics business. We are seeking to employ an experienced and a proactive individual for the Manager Sales and Marketing role to be based in Suva.
Key Responsibilities:
Sales Management
- Develop and execute sales strategies to achieve monthly, quarterly, and annual targets.
- Identify and secure new business opportunities across freight forwarding, logistics, and shipping services.
- Maintain and grow relationships with key customers, agents, and corporate clients.
- Prepare and negotiate quotations, contracts, and service agreements.
- Monitor market trends, competitor activity, and customer needs to adapt strategies accordingly.
- Provide accurate sales forecasts and performance reports to management.
Marketing & Business Development
- Plan and implement marketing campaigns, digital marketing, and promotional activities to strengthen brand visibility.
- Conduct market research to identify potential clients and emerging business sectors.
- Represent Carpenters Shipping at trade shows, industry events, and networking opportunities.
- Develop marketing materials, presentations, and customer communications in collaboration with the corporate marketing team.
- Manage social media and online marketing presence to enhance brand engagement.
Team Leadership
- Lead, coach, and motivate the sales and marketing team to deliver results.
- Set clear performance objectives and provide regular feedback and training.
- Foster a culture of teamwork, accountability, and continuous improvement.
Customer Service & Operations Liaison
- Ensure high standards of customer service and timely resolution of client issues.
- Work closely with operations, logistics, and finance teams to ensure service efficiency and customer satisfaction.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Logistics, or a related field (Master’s preferred).
- Minimum 5–7 years of experience in sales and marketing, preferably within the shipping, freight forwarding, or logistics industry.
- Proven track record of achieving and exceeding sales targets.
- Strong understanding of international shipping, logistics operations, and trade routes.
- Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in CRM tools, MS Office, and digital marketing platforms.
