Vacancy for Graduate Lawyer

FA & COMPANY, a leading Suva based Law Firm for over 30 years has a vacancy for the position of GRADUATE LAWYER to join our legal team.

Position Overview:

Fa & Company is committed to continuing to provide unparalleled services to our clients and in this regard is seeking an ambitious and motivated individual to fill the position of Graduate Lawyer within our legal team. This role offers a unique opportunity for a recent law school graduate to gain valuable hands-on experience and mentorship. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work on a diverse range of cases and develop their skills in various areas of law.

Key Responsibilities:

• Work with our senior lawyers to assist on with the following:
  • Case management across all client files
  • Prepare, finalise and file Court documents with the Court Registries
  • Prepare status reports for client files
  • Manage the Court calendar and diaries
  • Attend Court appearances for Mentions and Directions
  • Conduct searches with the High Court Library, Court Registries, Registrar of Titles, Registrar of Companies, Mineral Resources Department, and any other governmental department as and when needed.

Qualifications:

• Must have completed Bachelor of Laws (LLB) or Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited institution.
• Admission to the bar or eligibility to become admitted within a reasonable timeframe.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office 365 (Word, Excel, Outlook, SharePoint). Proficiency in SharePoint is preferrable but not essential.
• Full Driver’s License is preferrable but not essential.
• Excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively.
• Strong academic record and demonstrated interest in pursuing a career in law.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.
• Must have good research and writing skills, as well as good interpersonal and communication skills.
• Demonstrated commitment to upholding ethical standards and professionalism in the practice of law.
