Construction Tradesman (Carpentry / Steel/Welding / Civil Concrete focus)

Position Overview

We are seeking a versatile and highly capable Construction Tradesman to execute structural and civil modifications across the Tuvatu site. This hands-on role involves fabricating, installing, and maintaining physical infrastructure. You will work across both capital project expansions and operational tasks, shifting safely between structural steel fixing, formwork carpentry, and civil installations.

Schedule & Logistics

• Roster: Weekdays (5-on-2-off, Monday to Friday).
• Transport: Daily pickup and drop-off provided by Lion One Ltd from designated regional transit routes.

Key Responsibilities

• Structural Work: Build formwork, tie reinforcing steel frameworks, and place/finish concrete for operational structures and processing plant upgrades.
• Fabrication & Installation: Read technical drawings to measure, cut, weld, or assemble wood, steel, and pipe components safely.
• Maintenance & Modifications: Perform structural repairs and modifications on existing site infrastructure, offices, accommodation facilities, and base camp assets.
• Safety Adherence: Maintain a clean work environment, tag out faulty equipment, and complete all work under valid site permits.
• Mentorship: Assist the Foreman by guiding and upskilling site laborers and apprentices on proper trade techniques.

Qualifications & Experience

• Trade Certificate (Level 3 or 4) in Carpentry, Joinery, Welding, or Civil Construction from a recognized institution (e.g., FNU or equivalent).
• 3+ years of post-apprenticeship experience working on industrial or commercial construction sites.
• Ability to work accurately from engineering blueprints and design plans.
• Self-motivated with the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
