The Manager Information Technology (MIT) plays a key role in driving digital transformation that effectively support the organization goals. With a strong focus on customer service, business continuity and resource management this dynamic role is expected to introduce best practice standards into how the IT team delivers and supports valued TLTB services. This role requires a combination of strong project management skills, leadership abilities, and a deep understanding of the organization’s goals and objectives.
The incumbent will work closely with key internal and external customers to ensure that core deliverables are underpinned with solid understanding of business objectives, robust resource planning and acceptable levels of data integrity. Manager IT is expected to manage a team of dynamic individuals, harnessing their capabilities to manage current services whilst preparing for the transition of project activities in ‘business as usual’ including the implementation of technology change initiatives.
The position reports to the General Manager Corporate Services and is based at the Head Office in Suva.

Key Outcomes:
- IT Strategy and policies developed in consultation with other members of the senior management team
- Contribute to the development of project strategies and objectives.
- Identify opportunities for process improvements and efficiencies.
- Quality and up-to-date advice on new equipment, systems and software appropriate to TLTB
- All investigation, feasibility studies and surveys of proposed and existing IT operations recommended, planned, co-ordinated and scheduled
- Collaborate with department heads and internal team to create and maintain IT and Special Projects department budgets.
- Assist in the development of the annual organizational budget.
- Monitor budget adherence by tracking expenditures and revenue against budget projections
- Review and approve budget requests and adjustments.
- Build and lead cross-functional project teams, assigning roles and responsibilities.
- Provide guidance, direction, and support to team members.
- Foster a collaborative and high-performance project team culture.
- Efficient and effective direction and control of TLTB’s IT Operations
- Leads the identification and assessment of new emerging technology that is expected to bring significant improvement and benefits to TLTB
- Provide comprehensive advice to the CEO on best practices and strategies to manage the process of deploying and integrating digital capabilities within TLTB
- Develop an architectural framework that supports the rollout of integrated and intelligent systems
- Set guidelines to facilitate the implementation of various components of the framework.
- Review and provide advice on standard and requirements for effective delivery of services
- Manage the delivery of IT support services and training of all staff in the effective application of IT systems for the efficient delivery of TLTB services
- Oversee departmental budgets (including development budgets) and managed effectively
- Develop efficient and stable IT through selection, performance, managed competency and high morale
- Applications are relevant and capable to achieve TLTB business objectives
- Selection, installation and use of computing equipment and software
- The security of systems and the integrity of the data in the systems ensured
- TLTB’s IT assets and intellectual property are protected
- Provide mitigation strategies for technological risks where this role is held accountable
- Work in partnership with the Senior Managers to address risks arising from the implementation of technology change initiatives
- Proactively address issues that may impact project success.
- Compliance with relevant Occupation Health and Safety (OHS) obligations and ensure staff understand the OHS policies and provide support in participating in health, safety and wellness initiatives.
- Manages a range of technology projects in alignment to the Digital transformation of the Board
- Ensures regular awareness of program initiatives in support of transition to ‘business as usual’
- Develop strategies for the transition of project deliverables into business-as-usual operational activities
- Plan, initiate, and manage special projects from conception through completion.
- Define project scope, goals, deliverables, and timelines.
- Develop and maintain project budgets and allocate resources effectively.
- Monitor project progress, identify potential issues, and implement corrective actions.
- Ensure projects are delivered on time, within scope, and on budget.
