Construction Foreman

Position Overview

As the Construction Foreman, you will lead site crews, subcontractors, and tradespeople in executing civil, structural, and operational construction projects at the Tuvatu Gold Mine. Reporting directly to the project Manager, you will bridge the gap between project engineers and hands-on site execution. You will ensure that capital works (infrastructure expansion, earthworks, concrete structures) and operational upkeep projects are delivered safely, on schedule, and up to mine standards.

Schedule & Logistics

• Roster: Weekdays (5-on-2-off, Monday to Friday).
• Transport: Daily pickup and drop-off provided by Lion One Ltd from designated regional transit routes.

Key Responsibilities

• Crew Leadership: Supervise, schedule, and assign daily work tasks to tradespeople and skilled laborers.
• Project Execution: Interpret blueprints, structural engineering drawings, and mine layouts to execute tasks exactly to specification.
• Safety & Compliance: Enforce a strict zero-harm culture on-site, conducting daily pre-start meetings, toolboxes, and routine Job Safety Analyses (JSAs).
• Resource Management: Monitor equipment utilization, coordinate material deliveries to work areas, and minimize material wastage.
• Progress Reporting: Track daily milestones and provide concise progress updates and roadblock reports to project management.

Qualifications & Experience

• Minimum of 5-10 years of construction supervisory experience, ideally within a heavy industrial, infrastructure, or mining environment.
• Deep knowledge of civil earthworks, structural steel erection, and concrete works.
• Strong leadership skills with a proven track record of managing multi-disciplinary crews.
• Excellent safety record with sound knowledge of occupational health and safety regulations.
• Valid Fiji driver's license (Group 2 or higher preferred).
