Financial Accountant - Viti Foods Pte Limited

This is a full-time, on-site role based at Viti Foods Pte Limited (VFL), a subsidiary of CJ Patel Group of Companies. VFL specializes in manufacturing canned tuna and mackerel products for local and export markets. We are seeking an experienced and commercially focused Financial Accountant to join our team at Laucala Beach Estate, Suva. 

Key Responsibilities

The role will report to the Finance Manager and work closely with operational teams to ensure accurate financial information, effective cost control and strong financial governance across the business.

• Support day-to-day financial accounting activities, including general ledger, reconciliations, payables, receivables, and fixed assets.
• Prepare accurate and timely monthly management accounts and financial reports.
• Monitor and analyse production costs, raw materials, labour, overheads, and manufacturing variances.
• Manage and reconcile inventory accounting, including raw materials, packaging, work-in-progress, and finished goods.
• Prepare financial analyses and investigate significant budget, cost, and production variances.
• Support budgeting, forecasting, financial planning, and management reporting.
• Work closely with Production, Operations, Procurement, Warehouse, and Supply Chain teams on cost and financial matters.
• Supervise and mentor finance team members.
• Support internal and external audits and provide information as required.

Qualifications & Requirements

• Degree or higher qualification in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.
• CA/CPA qualification, or progress toward a professional qualification, will be an advantage.
• Minimum 5 years’ relevant accounting experience in a similar senior role, preferably within manufacturing, FMCG, food processing, or a production environment.
• Strong experience in financial accounting, management reporting, inventory accounting, and costing.
• Demonstrated leadership and supervisory skills.
• Knowledge of manufacturing costing and production variance analysis.
• Strong Excel and ERP/accounting system skills.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and reconciliation skills.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to meet reporting deadlines.
• Good communication skills and ability to work effectively with finance and operational teams.
