DIVE INSTRUCTOR / DIVEMASTER / MARINE STAFF

Job Description & Skills/Qualifications Required

Royal Davui Island Resort, Fiji

Royal Davui Island Resort is seeking an enthusiastic, professional and hands-on Dive Instructor / Divemaster / Marine Staff member to join our Marine Team.

Located in Beqa Lagoon, Royal Davui is an adults-only private island resort catering to a maximum of just 32 guests. Our marine operation covers far more than diving alone, and this role is suited to someone who enjoys being on and in the water, working with guests and being part of a small, practical island team.

ABOUT THE ROLE

This is a varied, hands-on position within our Marine Team.

Depending on your qualifications and experience, responsibilities may include:

  • Leading guided recreational dives throughout Beqa Lagoon
  • Conducting Discover Scuba Diving experiences and PADI courses where appropriately qualified
  • Guiding snorkelling excursions and other marine activities
  • Assisting with boat transfers, excursions and general marine operations
  • Preparing, loading and maintaining dive and snorkelling equipment
  • Conducting guest briefings and ensuring safe operating procedures are followed
  • Maintaining dive, equipment and operational records
  • Assisting with the cleaning, care and presentation of boats and marine facilities
  • Providing guests with knowledgeable information about local marine life and reef environments
  • Supporting the wider Marine Team across all daily water-based activities
  • Delivering the warm, personalised level of service expected within a luxury private island resort

ABOUT YOU

We are looking for someone who is capable, practical and genuinely enjoys working with guests.

Ideally, you will have:

  • Current PADI Divemaster, Open Water Scuba Instructor or higher certification
  • Experience working within a professional dive, marine or watersports operation
  • Strong knowledge of recreational diving and marine safety procedures
  • Good knowledge of dive equipment and basic equipment maintenance
  • Strong swimming and water-confidence skills
  • Excellent spoken English and confident guest communication skills
  • A friendly, mature and service-focused personality
  • The ability to work effectively within a multicultural team
  • A strong work ethic and willingness to assist across all areas of the Marine Department
  • A genuine interest in marine conservation and the underwater environment

Previous experience within a remote island resort, luxury resort, liveaboard or similar marine environment will be highly regarded.

Additional boating qualifications, small-boat handling experience, mechanical aptitude, fishing experience or watersports experience will be an advantage.

THE ENVIRONMENT

Royal Davui is a small private island, and this is not simply a dive-centre position.

Our Marine Team is responsible for a wide range of guest activities and island operations, so we are looking for someone who is flexible, practical and willing to get involved.

One day may involve guiding a dive; another may involve taking guests snorkelling, assisting with boats, preparing equipment or helping with general marine operations.

The successful applicant therefore needs to be both a capable marine professional and someone who enjoys delivering exceptional guest service.

APPLY

Please submit your CV together with a brief cover letter outlining your diving or marine experience, current qualifications and why you would like to join Royal Davui Island Resort.
