ASSISTANT ACCOUNTANT

About us

Viti Foods Pte Limited is a subsidiary of CJ Patel Group of Companies and we specialize in manufacturing canned tuna and mackerel products for local and export markets. We are seeking to recruit a suitably qualified and experienced Assistant Accountant to be based at our manufacturing plant in Laucala Beach Estate, Suva.

• Conduct product costing evaluations, margin analysis and prepare relevant management reports.
• Coordinate daily, weekly and monthly stock takes and ensure timely and accurate posting in the accounting system.
• Monitor departmental expenditure against approved budgets and identify opportunities for cost improvement.
• Conduct daily raw material usage and variance analysis and highlight significant variances.
• Maintain and manage Finance SOPs and prepare accurate ad-hoc financial and management reports.
• Manage accounts receivable activities, including reconciliation of intercompany transactions.
• Coordinate and process approved stock and asset write-offs within agreed timelines.
• Maintain accurate and timely reconciliations, schedules, registers and supporting documentation.
• Provide financial analysis and operational support to management as required.

Qualifications & Requirements:

• Degree in Accounting, Finance or a related discipline.
• Minimum 3 years’ experience in a similar supervisory accounting or manufacturing finance role.
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles, procedures and general ledger processes.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
• Strong analytical, numerical and problem-solving skills.
• High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet tight deadlines.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work effectively with Finance, Production, Stores and other operational teams.
