Global Cargo Risk & Compliance Coordinator

Reporting to the Executive Manager - World Cargo, the Global Cargo Risk & Compliance Coordinator role is responsible for conducting audits, representing the Safety Action Group (SAG) chair for filling DG Coordinator role and updating the cargo manuals. It is also responsible for managing and driving the annual (QAP) Quality Assurance Program and ensures that all front-line operating risk is mitigated effectively through first line of defense SOP's.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Coordinate risk-based investigations (RBI), dangerous goods (DG), Safety, and compliance matters, and provide regular updates to stakeholders.
  • Maintain the Safety Management System Risk Register and support investigation reporting.
  • Provide guidance on cargo specialty requirements, including Dangerous Goods, Live Animals, Human Remains, Perishables, Safe Hand, and other special cargo categories.
  • Drive TSA, RBI/IOSA compliance, Quality Assurance Program (QAP), and other regulatory requirements across cargo operations.
  • Conduct investigations into cargo operational issues and service failures, identify corrective actions, and support continuous improvement.
  • Coordinate Safety Action Group (SAG) meetings, prepare meeting minutes, and follow up on compliance and safety actions.
  • Maintain accurate documentation, reporting, and communication to support safety and compliance governance.
  • Support cargo manual updates, risk awareness initiatives, and operational compliance across the network.
  • Provide administrative, operational, and commercial support to the Executive Manager - World Cargo.
  • Undertake additional projects and duties as assigned by management.

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

  • Minimum of a Diploma in Business or equivalent.
  • Must have a minimum of Three (3) years prior experience in an airline industry.
  • At least 1 year of risk & compliance experience
  • Must have current Dangerous Goods Acceptance (CAT 6) Certification.
  • Lead Auditors Training Certification is an added advantage.
  • Risk Management Certification is an added advantage.
  • Preferred to have obtained certification to conduct investigations on accidents, incidents and occurrence reports.
  • Must be computer literate.
  • Must have a good level of written /verbal communication and inter- personal skills.
  • High level of self-motivation and self-discipline will be required to work alone and meet goals set.
