Castaway Island, Fiji managed by OUTRIGGER Resorts & Hotels is an award winning, iconic four-star resort in the breathtaking Mamanucaislands, and located just 30 km from Nadi. Accessible by helicopter, seaplane or fast catamaran, the resort offers a unique opportunity to work in one of Fiji’s most renowned destinations. We are currently seeking passionate, dynamic, energetic and self-motivated individuals to join our team in below role:

Resort Manager

WHAT ARE WE LOOKING FOR?

  • Minimum 8–10 years' progressive leadership experience in luxury resort or hotel operations, with at least 3–5 years in a Resort Manager or senior executive role.
  • Degree or Diploma in Hospitality Management, Business Administration, Tourism Management, or a related discipline.
  • Demonstrated experience managing multi-department resort operations in a luxury island resort environment.
  • Strong financial management skills, including budgeting, forecasting, cost control, revenue optimization, payroll management, and financial analysis.
  • Proven ability to achieve operational and financial targets while maintaining exceptional guest satisfaction.
  • Comprehensive understanding of Rooms Division, Food & Beverage, Engineering, Housekeeping, Recreation, Reservations, Finance, and Human Resources operations.
  • Strong commercial acumen with the ability to identify business opportunities and improve profitability.
  • Exceptional leadership and people management skills with experience coaching, mentoring, and developing high-performing teams.
  • Proven ability to build a positive workplace culture focused on engagement, accountability, and continuous improvement.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong conflict resolution and problem-solving abilities with sound decision-making under pressure.
  • Demonstrated commitment to delivering world-class guest service and creating memorable guest experiences.
  • Experience in handling VIP guests, dignitaries, group movements, and special events.
  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Strong knowledge of resort technology, including Property Management Systems (PMS), Point of Sale (POS), Microsoft Office Suite, and reporting tools.
  • Experience analyzing guest feedback, quality assurance reports, and operational KPIs to drive continuous improvement.
  • Sound understanding of occupational health and safety, risk management, food safety, and emergency response procedures.
  • Knowledge of employment legislation, workplace relations, and human resource best practices.
  • Experience with sustainability initiatives, environmental management, and recognized certification programs (e.g. Green Key) is highly desirable.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with owners, corporate leadership, government agencies, tourism bodies, and local communities.
  • High level of professionalism, integrity, confidentiality, and ethical leadership.
  • Flexible and adaptable, with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, remote island resort environment.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends, evenings, and public holidays, as operational needs require.
  • A passion for hospitality, service excellence, and creating an outstanding workplace culture.
  • Ability to work and live in a remote island environment.
