Aircraft Production Planner

The Aircraft Production Planner is responsible for coordinating and supporting planned aircraft maintenance activities to ensure maintenance is completed within the allocated ground time, with all work packages, task cards, and documentation accurately completed and accounted for, while minimising deferred tasks. The role is based in the Maintenance Control Centre and reports directly to the Duty Aircraft Maintenance Coordinator.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Key Responsibilities include but not limited to:

  • Review maintenance work packages to identify discrepancies, missing task cards, and ensure documentation is complete before maintenance commences.
  • Prepare manpower allocation and critical path plans to support the timely completion of scheduled maintenance within allocated ground time.
  • Coordinate with Materials to ensure required spares, tools, and equipment are available and pre-positioned before maintenance checks.
  • Plan and monitor the rectification of deferred tasks, concessions, hold items, MELs, and open defects during scheduled maintenance.
  • Monitor maintenance progress, identify delays against the critical path, and report issues affecting schedule, documentation, manpower, or resources to the Duty Aircraft Maintenance Controller (AMC).
  • Coordinate work package deferrals and rescheduling with the Aircraft Planning Engineer as required.
  • Ensure all task cards and maintenance documentation are completed, certified, and accounted for prior to aircraft release.
  • Prepare maintenance check analysis reports and provide administrative support to the Maintenance Control Centre.
  • Perform any other duties as assigned by the Duty Aircraft Maintenance Controller (AMC).

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

  • Degree in an Engineering discipline or Licensed Aircraft Maintenance Engineer.
  • At least 2-3 years' experience in an engineering environment.
  • Knowledge of aircraft systems and maintenance requirements would be an advantage.
  • Project management knowledge and experience.
  • Experience in using computer based ERP systems such as AMOS would be desired.
