Senior Customs Clerk
Nadi, Fiji | Full-Time
Position Overview
Comprehensive Logistics is seeking an experienced and motivated Senior Customs Clerk to join our team in Nadi.
This is a unique opportunity to play a key role in establishing and developing our customs Department from the ground up. The successful candidate will work closely with senior management to implement customs procedures, ensure compliance with Fiji Revenue & Customs Service (FRCS) requirements, and deliver exceptional service to our clients.
As our customs operations continue to grow, this role offers excellent career progression, with the opportunity to take on greater leadership responsibilities and progress into a management position.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in establishing and developing the Customs Department.
- Prepare, review and lodge import and export declarations using ASYCUDA World.
- Ensure compliance with Fiji Revenue & Customs Service (FRCS) requirements and all relevant customs legislation.
- Liaise with FRCS, Biosecurity Authority of Fiji (BAF), Ministry of Health (MOH), Ministry of Fisheries (MOF), shipping lines, airlines and other regulatory authorities.
- Review shipping documentation including commercial invoices, packing lists, bills of lading and certificates of origin.
- Ensure accurate tariff classification, customs valuation, and duty calculations.
- Resolve customs queries, inspections, and shipment delays.
- Build strong relationships with clients and provide professional customs advice
- Support the recruitment, training and mentoring of future customs staff as the department grows.
What We're Looking For
Applicants should possess:
- Minimum 3-5 years' experience in customs clearance, customs brokerage & Freight.
- Current Fiji Customs Agent Licence preferred (or eligible to obtain one).
- Strong working knowledge of FRCS Customs procedures.
- Experience using ASYCUDA World.
- Excellent knowledge of HS Classification, Customs Valuation and Rules of Origin.
- Excellent communication, organisational and problem-solving skills.
- A valid Fiji Driver Licence.
- A positive attitude with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
