Pacific Social Services Support Coordinator

Job Description & Skills/Qualifications Required

The Pacific Social Services Support Coordinator exists to strengthen the effectiveness, safety, and sustainability of Salvation Army social services across the Pacific by providing coordination, capability building, reporting support, and strategic linkage between local services, Territorial leadership, and International Headquarters. 

This role contributes to improved service quality, stronger compliance, enhanced workforce capability, and better outcomes for individuals and communities served.

REQUIRED COMPETENCIES AND ATTRIBUTES:

-       Experience in social services, community development, or related field 

-       Strong coordination, organisational, and communication skills 

-       Understanding of safeguarding, risk management, and compliance requirements 

-       Ability to work cross-culturally and respectfully within Pacific contexts 

-       Competency in report writing and stakeholder engagement 

-       Excellent written and oral communication skills.

-       Ability to work cooperatively in a team environment, sharing information, ideas and effective practices while maintaining client and service privacy, and confidentiality.

-       Relationship building and collaboration 

-       Strategic thinking and problem solving 

-       Accountability and attention to detail 

-       Adaptability and initiative.

DESIRABLE

-       Experience working in the Pacific Islands context 

-       Familiarity with MFAT or similar donor-funded programmes 

-       Knowledge of Salvation Army structures and mission 

-       Experience facilitating training or communities of practice.
