Job Description & Skills/Qualifications Required
Island Solar Fiji, a leading solar and battery storage company serving residential and commercial clients across Fiji, is seeking an experienced Senior Manager – Engineering & Projects to lead the technical and project delivery function of the business.
About the Role
This senior leadership position holds full responsibility for the engineering design, EPC project lifecycle, and technical delivery of solar PV, battery energy storage (BESS), and hybrid power systems, from initial design through commissioning. The role requires managing complex, multi-site project portfolios, remote logistics, contractor governance, and regulatory compliance in a demanding island-grid environment.
Essential Requirements

- Minimum 20 years' progressive experience in the renewable energy / power engineering sector
- Minimum 10 years in a senior project or construction management role with full EPC lifecycle accountability
- Demonstrated experience delivering utility-scale and hybrid solar + BESS + grid projects (multi-MW scale)
- Proven track record across multiple international markets, including experience in remote, island, or off-grid/mini-grid electrical environments
- Direct experience with hybrid inverter platforms, BESS integration, and grid-interactive system design
- Strong technical proficiency in PVSyst, AutoCAD, and MS Project
- Demonstrated experience in technical due diligence, cost control, risk management, and stakeholder management at a senior level
- Experience managing HSE compliance frameworks for solar/electrical construction projects
- Diploma or degree qualification in Electrical & Electronics Engineering (or equivalent)
Desirable
- Experience specifically with mini-grid delivery in Pacific Island or similarly remote grid contexts
- Portfolio experience exceeding 20 MW of delivered solar capacity across multiple countries
- Multilingual capability relevant to a diverse project workforce
