Job Description & Skills/Qualifications Required

Pacific Engineering Projects Ltd is a leading engineering services company operating across the Pacific. We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Accounts Administrator to join our finance team at our Suva Office. The successful candidate will manage our full accounts function, ensuring accurate and timely processing of all supplier payments and maintaining strong financial controls.

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

§  Process and verify supplier invoices and prepare payment runs (cheques, EFT, online transfers)

§  Match purchase orders, delivery receipts and invoices (three-way matching)

§  Maintain and reconcile the AP ledger and supplier statements

§  Liaise with suppliers and internal departments on invoice and payment queries

§  Ensure payments are properly authorized and due dates are monitored

§  Maintain vendor records, AP documentation and support audit requirements

§  Assist with month-end closing, AP accruals and aged payables reporting

§  Accurately enter financial transactions into the accounting system

§  Process petty cash claims, staff expense reimbursements and receipts

§  Prepare and distribute remittance advices and payment notifications

§  Maintain organized financial filing systems — digital and physical

§  Prepare and lodge VAT (Value Added Tax) returns accurately and on time

§  Process and lodge PAYE (Pay As You Earn) deductions and returns

§  Manage FBT (Fringe Benefits Tax) calculations and lodgment

§  Process and remit FNPF (Fiji National Provident Fund) contributions

§  Ensure all statutory lodgments meet FRCA and regulatory deadlines

§  Perform monthly GL reconciliations across all relevant accounts

§  Investigate and resolve reconciling items in a timely manner

§  Assist with bank reconciliations and GL postings

§  Support month-end and year-end close processes

§  Prepare reconciliation schedules and supporting documentation for review

§  Provide general administrative support to the Finance team as required

 

REQUIREMENTS & ATTRIBUTES

Qualifications & Experience

§  Diploma in Accounting or higher

§  Prior experience in an account payable or accounts clerk role is advantageous

§  Experience with statutory lodgments (VAT, PAYE, FBT, FNPF) in Fiji is highly regarded

§  Familiarity with accounting software (MYOB, Xero or similar) is an advantage

 

Skills & Knowledge

§  Proficient in Microsoft Office - Word, Excel and Outlook

§  Accurate data entry with strong attention to detail

§  Sound understanding of GL reconciliations and financial reporting

§  Fluent in English - written and spoken

§  Valid Fiji driver's license
