Aspen Medical is seeking qualified and experienced candidates for the position of Procurement Officer. The role will effectively administer all activities in the procurement department ensuring availability of stocks and services, medicines and similar health commodities. The Procurement Officer ensures transparency, compliance, and value for money in all procurement activities. 

The roles and responsibilities of this position include:

  • Execute day-to-day procurement processes including raising purchase orders, obtaining quotations, and processing requisitions. 
  • Liaise with suppliers and service providers to ensure timely delivery and adherence to contract terms. 
  • Maintain an updated and approved supplier database. 
  • Maintain accurate procurement records including purchase orders, delivery notes, invoices, and payment confirmations. 
  • Generate regular procurement reports and assist with audits. 
  • Coordinate with the stores/warehouse team to ensure timely receipt and distribution of goods. 
  • Assist in maintaining accurate inventory records and reconciliation. 
  • Uphold transparency and fairness in the procurement process. 
  • Report any conflict of interest or unethical behaviour. 
  • Participate in the development of a safe and healthy workplace and comply with instructions given in adhering to safe work procedures. 
  • Take reasonable care to ensure own safety and health and that of others and to abide by our duty of care provided for in the OHS policy.  
  • Any other reasonable duties delegated by management.  

Experience and Qualifications Required

  • Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Economics, Finance, Supply Chain Management, Procurement  or related filed 
  • At least 3 years of experience in a procurement role. 
  • Demonstrate ability to acquire on the job the skill quickly. 
  • Have some knowledge or understanding of Procurement Softwares. 
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively work within a team environment. 
  • Must possess sound analytical and problem solving skills in resource-constrained environment. 
  • Good computer skills. 
  • Service oriented approach, with a commitment supporting the operational and corporate environment of the organization. 
  • Ability to relate to people from different backgrounds and cultures in a courteous manner. 
  • Demonstrated the ability to maintain confidentiality and neutrality, in a sensitive environment. 

​Desired: 

  • Knowledge of the Health Services industry. 
  • Work experience in a functional area of Procurement or Purchasing.
