Fiji Airports Foundation Coordinator

Job Description & Skills/Qualifications Required

Purpose of the Role: 

The Fiji Airports Foundation (FAF) Coordinator will lead the coordination and implementation of the Fiji Airports Foundation (FAF), positioning Fiji Airports as a responsible, community-focused organisation. The role is responsible for delivering impactful community initiatives that support underprivileged, minority, and vulnerable groups, while strengthening relationships with stakeholders across government, private sector, grassroots communities, and international organisations. The FAF coordinator will play a key role in enhancing Fiji Airports’ reputation through credible, visible, and impactful community engagement aligned with corporate values and national priorities.

 

Key Accountabilities:

1. Programme Coordination & Implementation

  • Develop FAF’s Strategic and implementation plans
  • Coordinate and implement FAF’s programmes.
  • Develop and diversify the community program initiatives for donors and partners.
  • Represent the foundation to the government, NGOs, international and local communities and corporate sectors.
  • Plan and deliver community launches and foundation events.

 

2. Stakeholder Engagement & Partnerships

  • Manage, build and maintain strong relationships with tourism stakeholders including government agencies, private sector leaders, NGOs, community groups, and international organisations.
  • Act as a key liaison between Fiji Airports and communities, ensuring respectful and culturally appropriate engagement.
  • Identify and leverage partnerships to enhance programme reach, impact, and sustainability.

 

3. Monitoring, Evaluation & Impact Reporting

  • Monitor and evaluate Foundation programmes to ensure effectiveness, accountability, and measurable impact.
  • Collect data, success stories, and evidence to demonstrate outcomes and inform decision-making.

 

4. Communication & Reputation Management

  • Support internal and external communication of Foundation initiatives to enhance visibility and credibility.
  • Provide input on community engagement opportunities that contribute to positive organisational perception and stakeholder trust.

 

5. Governance, Compliance & Administration

  • Ensure compliance with governance, reporting, and audit requirements related to Foundation activities.
  • Maintain accurate records, reports, and documentation of all Foundation activities.

 

6. Partnership Development & Resource Mobilization

  • Identify external funding opportunities and partnerships to scale FAF initiatives.

 

7. Continuous Improvement & Sector Awareness

  • Stay informed on emerging trends and best practices in corporate social responsibility and community development.

  • Ability to navigate sensitive community and reputational environments with professionalism and discretion.
  • Strong networking, influencing, and relationship-building skills across all levels — from grassroots communities to senior leadership.
  • Ensuring Foundation initiatives are credible, impactful, and not perceived as tokenistic.
  • Balancing strategic intent with operational delivery within resource constraints. Ability to work independently, take initiative, and drive outcomes with minimal supervision.

Qualifications, Professional Knowledge and Experience:

  • Minimum 10 years’ experience in Community related work or Business Development in the hospitality industry, stakeholder engagement, or similar roles.
  • Demonstrated ability to work across tourism/aviation, government, private sector, and community environments.
  • Strong networking capability with ability to engage both senior levels stakeholders and grassroots communities.
  • Experience in programme coordination and stakeholder management.
  • Understanding of Fiji’s social, cultural, and development landscape.
  • Experience in monitoring & evaluation and reporting is desirable.
  • Associate Diploma or Degree in Business & Technology, Social Sciences, Development Studies, Communications, Public Relations, or related fields is an advantage not mandatory.
