Graduate Analyst

Job Description & Skills/Qualifications Required

The University of Fiji seeks an energetic and dynamic individual to join the Office of the Registrar as a Graduate Analyst. The successful candidate will report to the Registrar through the Assistant Registrar and will be responsible for the efficient running and management of the affairs for the Office of the Registrar. The successful candidate will be based at the Saweni Campus but may be required to work from other university sites and campuses when required.

Responsibilities:

  • Plan, schedule, and execute data-related activities efficiently, ensuring alignment with role objectives, timelines, and institutional priorities;
  • Collect, validate, and analyse graduate employment and destination data to generate accurate and meaningful insights;
  • Develop and maintain reports, dashboards, and data visualizations to support evidence-based decision-making by management and key stakeholders;
  • Assist in conducting research, benchmarking studies, and programme evaluations to assess graduate outcomes and institutional performance against national and international standards;
  • Provide analytical support to project teams by translating data into actionable insights and recommendations;
  • Maintain accurate, up-to-date records and documentation in line with University policies, audit requirements, and data management standards;
  • Identify emerging trends, risks, and opportunities through data analysis to support strategic planning and continuous improvement initiatives;
  • Ensure high levels of data integrity, confidentiality, and compliance with organisational policies and relevant regulatory requirements;
  • Support the implementation and optimization of new systems and digital tools by understanding their functionality, assisting with testing, and contributing to user adoption;
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders, including Schools, administrative units, and external partners, to gather data and improve reporting processes;
  • Assist in preparing presentations, briefing papers, and reports for senior management, committees, and external stakeholders;
  • Contribute to process improvement initiatives by identifying inefficiencies and recommending enhancements to data collection, analysis, and reporting practices; and
  • Any other duties as assigned by the Registrar through the Assistant Registrar. 

Requirements:

  • A Bachelor’s Degree in Commerce, Technology, Arts or any other relevant discipline from a recognised institution with at least 3 years of work experience in a similar role;
  • Must possess excellent oral, written and interpersonal communication skills with strong writing and editorial abilities.
  • Highly organized with the ability to multitask.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, internet, and other public relation tools.
  • Must be able to meet tight deadlines and execute flawlessly on projects in a fast-paced, often pressured environment and see a project through to completion.
  • Must be capable of maintaining confidentiality, with a high level of accuracy regarding information.
  • Proven ability to develop and maintain strong professional relationships with internal and external stakeholders and work effectively with all levels of employees is critical.

The University requires all staff to proactively undertake community, environmental and social responsibilities as well as participate in University Committees in accordance with the themes established by the Strategic Plan 2022-2026.

Salary Band: $24,476.95 - $29,331.10

The University offers a three-year full-time contract with renewals subject to performance reviews.
