Trainer Assistant in Community Services

Job Description & Skills/Qualifications Required

This role supports the development, delivery, and assessment of community services courses. It involves preparing course and assessment materials, delivering training for assigned units of competency, assessing student performance, and maintaining accurate academic records. The role requires a strong health science background, good communication skills, and the ability to assess and support student learning effectively.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Course Development
    • Material preparation & development (e.g., learning notes, learner guide, learner workbook, assessor guide, training materials).
    • Develop course content and assignments, tests, etc., along with grading systems.
  • Training
    • Develop and deliver course materials
    • Providing training in the assigned unit of competency
  • Marking and Assessment
    • Assess students’ range of skills and knowledge acquired throughout each unit of competency.
    • Marking and grading the student’s progress. Assessments tasks that are used to assess student performance effectively include:
  • Documentation and Record keeping
    • Developing and Writing reports
    • Maintaining official documents

Qualifications:

  • Graduate in community services or related field.
  • Experience in a community services branch /discipline with a consistently good academic record throughout.
  • Excellent verbal/ written communication skills in English. Strong hold on fundamental basics of the subject
