IPPF is seeking a qualified, experienced, and passionate SGBV Senior Advisor to join our Pacific Humanitarian Team, based in Suva, Fiji. The successful candidate will be part of both the IPPF Humanitarian Team and the broader Pacific Regional Programme team. 

The SGBV Senior Advisor will lead and coordinate IPPF’s Sexual and Gender-Based Violence (SGBV) programming and advocacy portfolio in the Pacific. The role provides strategic guidance and technical assistance to Pacific Humanitarian and Development Programmes and IPPF Member Associations (MAs), strengthening gender- and inclusion-responsive interventions and representing IPPF in regional and global fora.

Key responsibilities

  • Provide evidence-based technical assistance on SGBV prevention, mitigation, and response in both stable and humanitarian contexts

  • Support Member Associations to integrate SGBV within SRH programming, aligned with international best practice

  • Provide technical input into programme design, proposals, work plans, implementation, reporting, M&E, and donor compliance

  • Strengthen gender and inclusion programming through contextual gender analysis

  • Build partnerships with specialist organisations and represent IPPF in relevant coordination and advocacy platforms

  • Support learning, documentation, visibility, and capacity building on SGBV across the Pacific

  • Work closely with global and regional technical teams to ensure quality, coherence, and impact

  • Uphold IPPF’s safeguarding, safety, and security policies at all times

Required skills and experience

  • Significant experience in comprehensive SGBV programming, advocacy, and capacity building in humanitarian and development settings

  • Strong understanding of gender-transformative, inclusive, and rights-based approaches

  • Proven technical leadership, facilitation, mentoring, and training experience

  • Experience working in diverse cultural contexts; Pacific region experience is highly desirable

  • Experience integrating SGBV and SRHR programming is an advantage

  • Strong analytical, writing, and presentation skills

  • Fluency in English (additional IPPF languages desirable)
