Aspen Medical is seeking qualified and experienced candidates for the position of Clinical Nurse EducatorThe Nurse Educator will be responsible for facilitating the planning, implementation, and evaluation of learning and development training programs for all levels of Registered Nurses within the hospital setting. 

The roles and responsibilities of this position include:

  • Develop and facilitate the implementation of the Nursing Division Training Plan 
  • Undertake assessments of clinical competencies and establish audit and quality improvement programs  
  • Maintain and manage appropriate clinical education documentation for all clinical staffs 
  • Provide effective reports on training and staff development activities and outcomes, along with recommendations for improvements and future programs 
  • Manage the training resources/equipment so as to ensure that key deadlines are met. 
  • Ensure training and development activities are integrated with staff performance management systems and complement succession planning. 
  • Actively contribute to all clinical requirements for Aspen Medical, including planning, budgeting, and human resource activities where required 
  • Training and Staff development plans aligned with nursing core skills are implemented and evaluated within agreed timeframes 
  • The quarterly and annual training reports are submitted within agreed timeframes detailing the return on investment and core learning outcomes achieved across the maternity unit 
  • Policy and procedures for staff development and training are implemented, monitored and reviewed and aligned with the company’s Learning & Development Guideline 
  • Efficient and timely management of resources and assets of the unit so as to ensure continuity of service delivery 
  • Participate in the development of a safe and healthy workplace and comply with instructions given in adhering to safe work procedures. 
  • Take reasonable care to ensure own safety and health and that of others and to abide by our duty of care provided for in the OHS policy.  
  • Any other reasonable duties delegated by management.  

Experience and Qualifications Required

  • At least a bachelor’s in nursing science with a valid registration and practicing license with the Fiji Nursing Council 
  • Proven experience and working knowledge in all aspects of Nursing 
  • Proven experience in clinical education 
  • An understanding of adult learning principles and methods of evaluating training programs 
  • Proven experience and comprehensive understanding of the registered nurses’ scope of practice, Fiji Nursing Decree, and the Nurses Code of Conduct 
  • Broad knowledge and experience on quality improvement systems and their implementation 
  • Ability to conduct training needs analysis, evaluate training programs and compile a training plan 
  • Ability to make professional and timely clinical judgement and decisions 
  • Excellent report writing and the ability to communicate effectively 
  • Capacity to utilise computer programs to support the operations of the unit. 
  • Service oriented approach, with a commitment to supporting the overarching values and goals of Aspen Medical globally.
