Fiji Coconut Millers Pte Limited was established in 1985 by the Coconut Board of Fiji and currently
the Fijian government holds 98.46% stakes. The key operations of the mill are to purchase raw
materials, specifically dried copra, raw copra, and whole coconuts from farmers.
The Company has undergone a Rebranding Exercise in April 2020 whereby the Company changed its name from Copra Millers of Fiji Limited to Fiji Coconut Millers Pte Limited.
The main factory is based in Balaga Bay, Savusavu where Crude Coconut Oil (1985), Coconut Meal,
Virgin Coconut Oil (2017) and Coconut Cooking Oil (2020) are manufactured. Fiji Coconut Millers Pte Limited is one of the two larger local manufacturers of Crude Coconut Oil from dried copra. The main product, crude coconut oil is marketed locally and FCML is looking at export markets to Taiwan, Malaysia, Australia and New Zealand. The by-product, Coconut meal is sold locally and mostly used in the dairy industry and the remaining copra residuals are used for poultry and pig farm feeds FCML also produces Virgin Coconut Oil by deshelling fresh raw copra for its manufacturing process. Virgin Coconut Oil is deemed a high -quality oil as it is rich in antioxidant phenols and nutrients, such as vitamin E. The oil also has anti-inflammatory, anti-microbial and anti-fungal properties. The Company also produces Coconut Cooking Oil which is marketed locally and is identified as one of the healthiest cooking oils.
In 2024, FCML has further ventured into product diversification and has introduced the following
range of products:
a) Scented Oil in Five (5) Fragrances ( Tiare, Coconut Honey, Frangipani , Sandalwood and Tutti
Fruity)
b) Scented Soaps in Five (5) Fragrances (Tiare, Coconut Honey, Frangipani, Sandalwood and
Tropical Blossom)
c) Traditional Soaps (Charcoal, Coconut, Turmeric and Kura)
FCML actively supports livelihoods for farmers located in Macuata, Bua, Cakaudrove, Lau and
Lomaiviti Province. FCML provides employment to 33 full time employees inclusive of 9 female staffs and has been a market for the farmers produce and 100% Cash on Delivery payment at both Mill and Farm gate.
