Role: Executive Officer Medicines Regulatory Authority Salary Band: Band E Salary Range: $19,041.75 - $24,412.50 Location: Fiji Pharmaceutical & Biomedical Services Unit/Division: Medicine Regulatory Authority Reports to: Principal Pharmacist Regulatory Subordinates: Nil The Position The position provides administrative support in the operations of the Medicines Regulatory Authority. Key Responsibilities The position will achieve its purpose through the following key responsibilities, working with  relevant staff and service providers, in accordance with legislative requirements:  1. Licensing and registration of pharmacists and pharmaceutical importers, distributors, retailers and manufacturers 2. Provide secretariat support to the Fiji Pharmacy Profession Board & Fiji Medicinal Products Board  3. Coordinate the annual Pharmacy Internship Programme & Pharmacists Registration Exam 4. Arrange for payments to Medicine Regulatory Authority vendors 5. Assist the Principal Pharmacist with collation of Product complaints and Adverse Drug Reaction reports 6. Maintain an effective filing and record- retrieval system 7. Actively contribute to all corporate requirements of the Ministry, including planning, budgeting and selection activities where required  Key Performance Indicators Performance will be measured through the following indicators: 1. Renewal of annual licences, and the registers are updated 2. Board meetings are conducted as scheduled and the action points are implemented within the agreed timeframes 3. Internship assessments are completed within agreed time frames and at least 1 registration exam is conducted annually 4. All planned activities are implemented within the agreed time frames  Selection Criteria The Person In addition to a Diploma in Management or Public Administration (or equivalent relevant experience) the following Knowledge, Experience, Skills and Abilities are required to successfully undertake this role; Knowledge and Experience 1. Understanding and experience of at least 3 years in Human Resource Management 2. Experience in managing and supervising a team. 3. Experience in the use of Information Technology software such as Microsoft Applications 4. Understanding of the Constitution of Fiji 5. At least 3 years’ experience in an administrative, clerical or secretarial role Skills and Abilities 1. Demonstrated ability to effectively work within a team and to meet agreed timelines 2. Highly developed organisational skills and the ability to communicate with people at different levels and from different backgrounds 3. Capacity to utilise computer programs to support the daily operations 4.
