Project Accountant

The Role

We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Project Accountant to join our Fiji-based finance team. Reporting directly to the Senior Project Accountant, you will play a key role in managing the financial performance of multiple high-profile construction projects.

Key Responsibilities

·        Manage Accounts Payable functions including data entry, creditor reconciliations, and supplier payments.

·        Oversee Accounts Receivable — issue invoices, allocate receipts, and maintain weekly debtor reporting.

·        Prepare and analyse project cashflows, highlighting variances and financial risks.

·        Process and reconcile subcontractor progress claims and payments.

·        Interpret construction project reports to ensure accurate financial and cashflow forecasting.

·        Conduct balance sheet and general ledger reconciliations, including intercompany accounts.

·        Monitor daily cash positions and maintain detailed cashflow reporting.

·        Support and mentor assistant project accountants.

·        Collaborate confidently with internal teams, clients, and suppliers.

·        Assist with month-end close processes and ad hoc finance tasks.

Qualifications & Experience

·        Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field.

·        Minimum 3 years’ accounting experience, with mandatory experience in construction or property development.

·        Hands-on experience with Job Pac or similar ERP software is highly desirable.

·        Strong working knowledge of construction accounting principles.

·        Proficient in Microsoft Excel (intermediate to advanced level).

·        Excellent time management, analytical, and communication skills.
