ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES - 

The Ministry of Education is responsible for the design, implementation, monitoring and evaluation of educational legislations, policies and programmes in Fiji. We provide the structures, human resources, budget and administrative and management support to ensure that the quality of service delivery is maintained at a high level. We are specifically tasked to conduct and deliver education services to the following:

  • Pre-schools
  • Primary and Secondary
  • Special Schools for children with special needs and Vocational Schools
  • Students in the years of compulsory schooling
  • (Year 1 - Year 6) and those participating in Year 13 studies
  • Students in vocational education and training programmes
  • Teaching personnel
  • School management committees and controlling authorities

Contract
The Ministry of Education is seeking applications from human resource professionals specializing in learning and development who will be part of setting a new direction for education in Fiji. SENIOR LEARNING & DEVELOPMENT PROJECT OFFICER –implement, assess and evaluate the School Leaders Learning and Development Program (SLLDP), and provide technical support to the course candidates and stakeholders. These roles are based in Suva on 1-year contract. This is an open advertisement, we will continue to accept applications for a year and processing for these positions will be administered on a monthly basis. All applicants for employment in the Ministries must be of good character, with a background that demonstrates their commitment to the civil service values contained in the Fijian Constitution. Applicants must also be a Fijian Citizen, under the age 55 years, in sound health, with a clear police record. The selected applicants will be required to provide a medical certificate and police clearance prior to taking up duty.
