Accounts Clerk(Payroll Officer)

Job Description & Skills/Qualifications Required

We are looking for a detail-oriented Payroll Officer to join our team on a full-time basis at our Lautoka Mainland office. In this role, you will collaborate closely with the Finance Manager and other members of the Payroll team to ensure the seamless operation of payroll systems, accurate and timely payroll processing, and provide support on various payroll-related projects as needed.

 What You’ll Do

  • Process weekly payroll, timesheets, and reports with accuracy
  • Manage employee movements including on boarding, transfers, and terminations
  • Ensure compliance with tax, FNPF, and leave entitlement
  • Prepare payroll journals, reconciliations, and management reports
  • FNPF registration for new staff
  • Monthly FNPF online submission & payments
  • Monthly EMS files lodgments to FRCS
  •  Liaise with banks, FRCS, FNPF  and insurers as required
  • Maintains payroll operations by following policies and procedures; reporting needed changes.
  • Maintains and protects payroll operations by keeping information confidential.
  • Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
  • Updating staff files
  • Other administrative duties such as accounts receivables/payments and accounts payables

What We’re Looking For

  • Proven payroll experience (hospitality or hotel experience an advantage).
  • Minimum qualification required - Diploma in Accounting or equivalent;
  • Prior work experience and knowledge of payroll will be an added advantage
  • Strong knowledge of payroll legislation and compliance requirements
  • High attention to detail, accuracy, and confidentiality
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills
  • Computer knowledge is essential.
  • Proficiency in payroll systems such as Pay maker, GCT Payroll software and Excel
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet timelines.
  •  Manage job priorities and deadline.
  •  Must be a team player and well presented.
  • Ability to adapt to changes for processes and systems improvements.
