The Opportunity

The University of the South Pacific is seeking an enthusiastic Manager Accounts Receivable to join our Finance Section under the guidance of the Deputy Director Finance. The position is a key leadership role within the Finance Department, responsible for the collection and management of all the University revenues, including tuition fees, grants, commercial income and other receivables.

The Manager Accounts Receivable and Student Services leads accounts receivable and student financial services across all campuses, ensuring accurate revenue collection, student services and debt management. Supporting compliance, audit readiness and customer service, the role upholds financial integrity and operational efficiency critical for sustaining University operations and enhancing student experience across all campuses. 

Specific Duties

Specific duties may include:

  • Student Finance
  • Student Services Engagement
  • Cashiering Functions
  • Trade and Commercial Debtors
  • Administration and reporting functions
  • Staff Supervision and performance management across three sub-sections. Trade Debtors, Finance and Cashier

The Person we Seek

To be considered for this position, applicants must have:

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills; work in a flexible team environment;
  • Pro-active and strong interpersonal and analytical skills;
  • Self-motivated and well organized;
  • Good level of IT literacy, familiarity with databases, MS Word and MS Excel, and other accounting software (computerized General Ledger environment);
  • Proven ability to work with others in multi-cultural and multi-disciplinary teams, collaboratively and ethically, across multiple organizational units;
  • Proven experience in building and sustaining productive internal and external stakeholder relationships;
  • Must possess established conceptual, analytical and strategic thinking skills including the ability to identify emerging issues, expertise to resolve complex issues and manage innovative solutions to complex problems;
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and use sound judgment and discretion;
  • Concern for thoroughness, accuracy, and integrity;
  • Highly developed interpersonal communication skills with proven experience in building and sustaining productive internal and external stakeholder relationships;
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines, managing multiple activities while working under minimum supervision;
  • Good organizational and time management skills;
  • Excellent orientation for teamwork

The position is available for a term of three (3) years and may be renewed by mutual agreement.  

Salary Range

. FJ$53,255 to FJ$65,040 per annum.
