The Technical Officer Civil & Structure is responsible for the production of standard and non-standard drawings required by the ministry to successfully deliver its output. It also includes the monitoring of contracted and non-contracted construction activities, in accordance with contracts and timelines including monitoring and reporting.
1. Prepare standard and non-standard drawings for Rural Housing Unit (RHU) and other projects, including extensions, alterations, and completion plans and develop civil and structural designs required by the ministry.
2. Prepare and compile tender documents, including the form of tender, terms of reference, and tender conditions, in compliance with procurement standards.
3. Conduct scoping exercises and prepare detailed scope of works for tenders or quotations.
4. Carry out scoping for new rural roads and upgrading of existing rural infrastructure and verify scope of works received from Divisional Offices.
5. Participate as a member of the Technical Evaluation Committee (TEC) and prepare and submit technical evaluation reports with recommendations.
6. Track and monitor project implementation and performance and evaluate progress and prepare timely technical and financial progress reports.
7. Assist in the administration of open contracts and agreements, ensuring compliance with terms and timelines. Actively contribute to the Ministry and Corporate Requirements including Planning, budgeting and Human Resources activities.
8. Provide technical support and advice to divisions and stakeholders involved in project planning and implementation.
