The Opportunity
The appointee will be responsible for the effective and efficient operations of the Book Centre retail spaces, delivering exceptional and informed customer service, along with administrative and support services and ensuring the smooth functioning of the Book Centre.
The incumbent will be required to work closely with the Retail Sales Executive in ensuring that retail customers are well attended to and depleting stocks are ordered in a timely manner. The appointee will be required to work on shift basis. This position involves standing for extended periods, lifting, packing and unpacking of cartoons and attending to delegated duties in weekends or evenings to support shop opening hours and marketing events.
The incumbent will be required to manage the POS system, merchandising, assisting in monthly, Bi-annual and annual stock-takes and related duties as required. The incumbent will be responsible to ensure that stocks are neatly displayed on the shelves, prices marked and assist both internal and external customers.
The incumbent is expected to maintain a high level of understanding of retail operations, be able to contribute in a team environment and is customer focused. All USP Commercial staff are expected to provide service excellence through courteous, informed, accessible and professional engagement and demonstrate continuous improvement in all areas of work and maintains service level with our customers and vendors.
The Shop Assistant will develop and maintain excellent lines of communication and rapport with all customers and stakeholders. The appointee will be required to work on a shift basis and will be based in any of the retail section. This position involves standing for extended periods, lifting, packing and unpacking of cartoons and attending to delegated duties in weekends or evenings to support shop opening hours and marketing events.

Preference will be given to applicants with: A pass in Fiji School Leaving Certificate examination and who are able to work as a team and provide excellent customer service.

The position is available for a term of 3 years and may be renewed by mutual agreement.
Salary Range
FJ$12,334.99 to FJ$20,672.61 per annum.
