Heavy Truck Driver

We are currently seeking for Heavy Truck & T & T Drivers with class 6 & 7 licenses for 6-8 and 10-wheeler trucks in civil construction. You are to work as a Heavy Truck Driver and carry out other associated duties on site.

Tasks and responsibilities:
• Inspect vehicles for mechanical items and safety issues and perform preventative maintenance 
• Plan routes and meet delivery schedules
• Comply with truck driving rules and regulations (size, weight, route designations, parking and break periods) as well as with company policies and procedures
• Collect and verify delivery instructions
• To ensure the truck is loaded appropriately and materials recorded correctly
• Report defects, accidents or violations

The successful applicant:
• 2+ years in driving in the civil sector.
• Holds a Full Clean Class 6 &/or 7 drivers’ license.
• Experience in civil construction is a must.
• Experience in truck & trailer (for class 7).
• Ability to respect safety guidelines and procedures
• No recent moving or driving violations
• Physically strong and fit
• Flexible with night/day shift hours including weekend and public holidays
• Ability to work well in a team environment.

Skills
• Ability to Jack knife (Truck & Trailer).
• Ability to operate manual high/low gear system.
• Ability to drive long hours and travel regularly.
• Will demonstrate initiative and possess good communication skills.
