Engineering Supervisor - Alfa Pte Limited

Job Responsibilities:

This is a full-time on-site role for an Engineering Supervisor to be based at Alfa Pte Limited, Lami. Alfa is a subsidiary of CJ Patel Group of Companies that specializes in manufacturing hygiene and consumer products for Fiji and international markets such as Pacific Laundry Bar, Malumu tissues and Stelow and also holds the manufacturing license for world renowned international brand Janola. Reporting to the Factory Manager, the successful candidate will be accountable for but not limited to the following key responsibilities:

• Supervise and lead the Engineering Team in day-to-day operations, focusing on both mechanical and electrical planned and unplanned maintenance activities within the factory.
• Coordinate maintenance and repair services in line with manufacturers' guidelines and standard procedures, and arrange for specialized services when necessary to ensure machinery remains operational and downtime is minimized.
• Establish and maintain operational standards, and collaborate with maintenance personnel to resolve issues related to processes, tooling, and equipment.
• Provide project management support for the installation of major systems and equipment within the factory.
• Conduct technical and root cause analyses, offering expert input on manufacturing processes to support informed decision-making by management.
• Develop and implement a preventative maintenance schedule for all machines and equipment.
• Assist in the preparation and management of departmental capital and operational expense budgets.
• Oversee training and development initiatives for direct reports to ensure continuous skill advancement and team capability.

Essential Requirements:

• A relevant technical qualification from a recognized institution, with a minimum of three years' experience in a supervisory or managerial role within a manufacturing environment.
• Proven ability to troubleshoot automation equipment, including the capability to read and interpret product specifications, tooling details, and assembly drawings.
• Practical experience in designing, implementing, and managing effective preventative maintenance programs. Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint); knowledge of PLC systems and AutoCAD is an added advantage.
• Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to coordinate and manage team activities involving a variety of tasks and time-sensitive schedules.
• Strong leadership capabilities, with a proactive approach to driving continuous improvement initiatives.
