Job Description & Skills/Qualifications Required

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Finance Officer. The successful candidate will be part of the Finance Team and assist the team with day-to-day activities.

Roles and responsibilities:

  • Billing - Prepare and process invoices for clients, ensuring accuracy and timely payment. 

  • Data Verification - Verify the accuracy of financial data, such as purchase orders, sales invoices and job sheets.  

  • Financial Recordkeeping - Maintain detailed financial records, including costing, job orders, and other relevant information.  

  • Cost Allocation - Accurately allocate costs to specific jobs, projects, or departments, ensuring compliance with company procedures. 

  • Cost Analysis - Assist with cost analysis, including identifying cost drivers, tracking expenses, and preparing cost reports.  

  • Communication - Communicate with other departments (e.g., accounting, operations) to gather information and resolve discrepancies.  

  • Supplier Management - Manage relationships with suppliers, resolve any invoice-related issues, and maintain records of payments.  

  • Data Entry - Maintain and update databases and spreadsheets with financial data.  

  • Reporting – Prepare reports on cost trends, variances, and other key financial metrics. 

  • Stock Checks - Conduct regular physical inventory counts to verify that recorded stock levels match actual inventory.  

  • Accurate Record Keeping - Maintain detailed and accurate records of all stock movements, including receipts, shipments, and internal transfers. 

  • Support - Provide general support to the finance team. 

Qualification & Experiences

  • Minimum of 1 - 2 years of relevant work experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance or a related field
  • Knowledge of basic and advanced accounting and financial principles and practices
  • Excellent knowledge of cost accounting and reporting
  • Ability to analyze complex reports
  • Proficiency in accounting software, such as Xero

  • IT Skills - Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite Familiarity with driving sales through a Customer Relationship Management Tool e.g. Salesforce
  • Ability to multitask.
