Carpenters Fiji PTE Limited, one of the largest organizations in the private sector is seeking applications from suitably qualified and experience individual in the Stock Controller role to be based in Foreshore, Suva. Key Responsibilities:

  • Inventory Management:
    • Monitor and manage the stock levels of construction materials, tools, and equipment on-site.
    • Ensure that inventory is organized and accessible for the construction team.
    • Maintenance of the Inventory Items with proper records.
    • Perform regular stock checks and audits to maintain accurate records.
  • Logistics Coordination:
    • Liaise with Contract Administrator/s on delivery schedule of shipments.
    • Coordinate with the logistics team to ensure transport and labour is available for receival and dispatch.
    • Coordinate with Trade Contractors for their delivery requirements.
  • Stock Control Systems:
    • Maintain up-to-date records of stock movements, usage, and reordering.
    • Use software tools or manual systems to log and track inventory and orders.
    • Prepare and update inventory reports for the project manager and other relevant parties.
  • Safety and Compliance:
    • Ensure that all materials are stored and handled safely, following all relevant health and safety regulations.
    • Implement safety measures to prevent loss or damage to materials and equipment.
  • Waste Reduction:
    • Monitor the usage of materials and identify opportunities to reduce waste on-site.
    • Assist in the return or proper disposal of excess materials.
  • Stock Replenishment:
    • Proactively identify materials that need replenishing and arrange for their timely delivery.
    • Ensure that critical materials are available and not in short supply during peak construction phases.
  • Collaboration:
    • Work closely with site supervisors, project managers, and other team members to understand upcoming needs and ensure the availability of materials and equipment.
    • Assist in resolving any stock-related issues on-site promptly.
  • Reporting:
    • Provide regular reports to the project manager or site supervisor on the status of materials, equipment, and inventory levels.
    • Track usage trends and provide input on future procurement needs.

Skills & Qualifications:

  • Certificate or Diploma in Supply Chain Management or Inventory Control.
  • Previous experience in a stock control or inventory management role, preferably within a construction or similar industry.
  • Familiarity with construction materials, tools, and equipment is preferred.
  • Strong ability to track and maintain accurate records.
  • Clear communication with vendors, suppliers, and construction team members.
  • Ability to manage inventory and prioritize tasks efficiently.
  • Ability to lift and move materials, and work in a site environment.
  • Understanding of health and safety regulations for handling and storing materials.
  • Driving license is required to travel between warehouses.
  • Forklift license preferred
