About the role
Reporting to the General Manager, this is an exciting opportunity to join the team at Yasawa Island Resort & Spa in Fiji as the Executive Chef. In this full-time role, you will be responsible for overseeing all culinary operations at the resort, ensuring the delivery of an exceptional dining experience for our guests.

What you'll be doing

  • Plan, develop and execute innovative seasonal menus that showcase the best of local Fijian produce and ingredients
  • Manage and lead a talented team of chefs, providing mentorship and training to drive continuous improvement
  • Ensure the highest standards of food safety, hygiene and presentation are maintained across all food and beverage outlets
  • Optimise operational efficiency and profitability
  • Represent the resort at industry events and maintain strong relationships with local suppliers and producers
  • Develop and implement staff training and development programmes to nurture culinary talent
  • Monitor food and labour costs, implementing effective strategies to control expenses

What we're looking for

  • Minimum 2 years' experience as an Executive Chef or in a senior culinary leadership role, ideally within a high-end resort or hotel environment
  • Previous island experience will be advantageous
  • Demonstrated expertise in managing all aspects of a complex culinary operation, from menu planning and budgeting to staff development and supplier relationships
  • Passion for working with local, seasonal ingredients and a deep understanding of Fijian and Pacific Island cuisine
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to inspire and lead a diverse culinary team
  • Strong commercial acumen, with a track record of driving operational efficiency and profitability
  • Tertiary qualification in culinary arts or a related field
  • Working knowledge of food safety and compliance regulations
