Specialist Heavy Vehicle Technician - Carpenters Shipping

Carpenters Shipping is a well-established shipping & forwarding Agency and heavy transport and logistics business. We are seeking to employ experienced and proactive individuals for the Specialist Heavy Vehicle Technician position to be based in Suva & Lautoka.

Key Duties:

• Conduct comprehensive diagnostic testing to identify complex mechanical, electrical, and system faults.
• Develop and execute preventative maintenance schedules to minimize vehicle downtime and ensure optimal performance and longevity.
• Complex Repairs & Overhauls.
• Provide expert technical advice and guidance to other technicians and staff members.
• Perform welding, cutting, and fabrication tasks as needed for repairs and modifications.
• Conduct road tests to evaluate vehicle performance and identify any potential issues.
• Maintain accurate records of all inspections, repairs, and maintenance activities.
• Stay up-to-date with the latest technologies, diagnostic techniques, and industry best practices through continuous training and professional development.

Requirements:

• Relevant qualifications.
• 3-5 years of experience in the same field.
• In-depth knowledge of heavy vehicle mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
• Proficiency in using diagnostic tools, software, and technical documentation.
• Strong understanding of engine diagnostics, fuel systems, and emissions control systems.
• Welding and fabrication skills.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills to diagnose complex vehicle issues.
• Adhere to all safety regulations and procedures to ensure a safe working environment.
