Job Description & Skills/Qualifications Required
Industrial and Marine Engineering Pte Limited (IMEL), a division of Carpenters Group of Companies, has an exciting opening for dynamic individuals to join IMEL for the Seat Fabricatorrole based in Walu Bay, Suva.
Responsibilities:
- Fabricate and assemble bus seats according to specifications and blueprints
- Cut, shape, and sew fabric, leather, and other materials for seat covers
- Install padding, springs, and support structures in seat frames.
- Operate various tools and machinery, including sewing machines, staple guns, and pneumatic tools
- Measure and cut materials accurately to minimize waste.
- Perform quality checks throughout the fabrication process
Requirements:
- Minimum 2-3 years of experience in seat fabrication, upholstery, or related field from bus industry
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical drawings and specifications
- Strong skills in sewing, cutting, and assembling various materials
- Excellent attention to detail and commitment to quality
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
