Job Description & Skills/Qualifications Required
Industrial and Marine Engineering Pte Limited (IMEL), a division of Carpenters Group of Companies, has an exciting opening for dynamic individuals to join IMEL for the Fitter/Machinist role based in Walu Bay, Suva.
Responsibilities:
- Machine parts to specifications using machines and tools such as lathes, vertical borers, milling machines or grinders.
- Select, set up, adjust, and operate all of the basic machine, tools and many specialized tools.
- Position and fasten work pieces in to the machine.
- Monitor the feed and speed of machines during the machining process.
- Observe and listen to operating machines or equipment in order to diagnose machine malfunctions and to determine need for adjustments and repairs.
- Suggest and carry out improvements on job and work practices.
Requirements:
- Trade Certificate in Fitting & Machining.
- Ability to read technical drawings.
- Ability to work autonomously and in a team environment.
- Willingness to work varied shifts, including night shift where necessary.
- Forklift Driver's License would be advantageous.
