The Role

Due to business growth, we require a highly skilled Accounts Assistant to assist our finance team. Working remotely from Fiji, your role will support the finance team with various tasks and priorities to ensure that our accounts are up to date and finance department is running smoothly.

Key responsibilities will include:

Accounts Receivable

  • Managing incoming payments and accurately tracking them into the system to maintain precise accounting records.  Including credit card and EFT payments.
  • Customer portal management (upload / reconciliation).
  • Customer account reconciliations.
  • Processing customer credit notes and rebates.

Accounts Payable & Accounting Support

  • Preparation of daily bank reconciliations.
  • Processing of supplier invoices and payments, including obtaining appropriate authorisation.
  • Verify the accurate recording of transactions (the correct day, supplier ledger, customer ledger and general ledger).
  • Supplier account reconciliations.
  • Assisting with preparation and processing of journals.
  • Support finance team and other departments with information requests.

Your skills and attributes:

  • Degree qualified in Accounting or Commerce
  • Strong computer skills and proficiency across the Microsoft Office suite.
  • Intermediate to advanced level in Microsoft Excel.
  • Experience with accounting software and online platforms
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
  • Strong independent working skills as well as being a team player
  • Self-motivated, eager to learn and a can do attitude to work related tasks

Your experience:

Full training will be provided, however preferred candidates will demonstrate;

  • A solid understanding of financial principles, accounting and bookkeeping
  • A minimum of 2-3 years experience in a similar role (ideally for a global or international business)

The successful applicant will be able to demonstrate intermediate to advanced Excel skills. 

This is a busy and diverse role that requires independent working skills as well as being a team player.

This role is 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday, working in line with Australian Business Hours. The successful candidate will be offered a soon as possible start date.
