Engineer Class 2 for MV Reef Endeavour

Job Description: We are currently seeking a highly skilled Engineer Class 2 to join our engineering department on board MV Reef Endeavour. As an Engineer Class 2, you will be responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient operation of the vessel's machinery, equipment, and systems. You will work closely with other engineering staff to maintain the highest standards of performance and safety.
Responsibilities:
- Operate, maintain, and repair machinery, equipment, and systems onboard the vessel.
- Perform routine inspections, maintenance, and troubleshooting of engines, generators, pumps, and other mechanical systems.
- Monitor and control the operation of propulsion systems, electrical systems, and auxiliary equipment.
- Respond promptly and effectively to any mechanical or technical issues that may arise during the voyage.
- Assist in the implementation of safety procedures and protocols, ensuring compliance with maritime regulations and industry standards.
- Collaborate with the engineering team to optimize energy efficiency and minimize environmental impact.
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance and repairs andensure that proper documentation is completed.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Valid certification as an Engineer Class 2, in accordance with MSAF
- Extensive experience in the operation, maintenance, and repair of marine machinery and systems.
- Strong knowledge of diesel engines, electrical systems, hydraulics, and refrigeration.
- Proficiency in troubleshooting and problem-solving mechanical issues.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to work effectively under pressure and adapt to changing priorities.
- Attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high standards of safety and performance.
