Accountant

Lion One Limited, Nadi, Fiji Lion One Limited is expanding its exploration activities and moving towards the development of the Tuvatu underground gold mine and on-site processing plant at Tuvatu on the island of Viti Levu in Fiji. Due to the ongoing expansion of our activities, we are seeking a proactive, motivated and experienced candidate to fill the role of Accountant, to join our Nadi Head Office team located in Waimalika, Nadi on the western coast of Viti Levu. This is a permanent and full-time role. 

JOB DESCRIPTION:

• Prepare bank reconciliations and treasury management
• Prepare, enter and post journal entries as required to ensure all business transactions are recorded.
• Record all payables including approved employee expenses and invoices
• Prepare wire transfers, bank drafts and cheques for payment
• Ensure timely month end closure and assist management with financial reporting and/or inquires
• Prepare working papers for financial reporting and tax
• Assist with Form 7 MRD quarterly reporting
• Assist with VAT returns, payroll taxes and government remittances and filings are completed according to all statutory deadlines
• Assist with monthly/annual budgeted costs and variance analysis
• Resolve accounting discrepancies
• Various ad hoc and special project

EXPERIENCE & EDUCATION:

• 5+ years’ experience in full cycle Accounting experience
• Experience with computerized accounting software (ie. Pronto, Microsoft Dynamic)
• Previous experience in an accounting role with inventory experience in the mining industry is an asset 
• Some post-secondary education in Accounting, with a strong understanding of basic Accounting principles and practices
• Completion of a degree or diploma in accounting is an asset
• Experience with computerized payroll software
