We are also the oldest insurer in the Pacific and we have an exciting growth strategy across the Pacific which includes Fiji, PNG, Samoa, American Samoa, Tonga, Vanuatu, Cook Islands and the Solomons.

To help us on this journey, we are looking for a dynamic individual to join our Finance team in Suva as a Financial Accountant. In this role, you will contribute to the success of our Pacific business by supporting the Finance function.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Business partnering with key stakeholders
  • Managing the day-to-day finance function for your respective territory
  • Preparation and Presentation of Monthly Management Accounts
  • Preparing Financial Statements for multiple entities with consolidation in accordance with Accounting Standards
  • Coordinating and Liaising on activities and tasks across departments and across different countries
  • Maintaining and monitoring investments spread across Pacific Countries.
  • Ensuring all management expenses are in line with operations and plan.
  • Monitoring Credit control for Pacific Countries
  • Completing month-end tasks and liaising with Head Office in New Zealand on finance functions
  • Completing key reconciliations and participating in peer reviews
  • Finance system and Process Improvement
  • Stakeholder management for various entities and countries.
  • Accurately preparing and submitting regulatory returns and reports

To be successful in these roles, you will have the following:

  • Have a Degree in Accounting and related fields, CPA/CA would be added advantage.
  • Minimum two to three years’ experience at a similar role.
  • Demonstrate positive financial control and risk management culture.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation and relationship-building skills.
  • Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Excel) and have had
    exposure to accounts payable systems. Knowledge of ERP systems like Oracle will be an added advantage.
  • Ability to multitask, prioritise and manage time efficiently with high attention to detail.
