Job Description & Skills/Qualifications Required

BTR (Fiji) Limited based in central Suva offers outsourced business services to organisations located overseas. Our client, Aizer Group, is currently recruiting for an experienced Hydraulic Engineer with experience in design, estimation, and CAD drafting.

We are seeking a highly organised individual with attention to detail, needs to be organised, self-starter and be able to work autonomously.

The Hydraulic Engineer, in conjunction with plumbing team will mainly be working administratively, the role will require hydraulic design (residential & commercial), plumbing materials take-off & estimating & CAD drawings.


Responsibilities Include, but not limited to: 




  • Assist estimators during tendering process
  • Prepare estimating folders, bill of materials and pricing sheets
  • Prepare project handover folders for presentation to operations teams
  • Document control
  • Liaise and negotiate with suppliers and sub-contractors for pricing
  • Assist with purchasing of materials and equipment for projects
  • Preparation of O&M manuals
  • General administration duties as required



  • Development of hydraulic design (residential & commercial)
  • CAD drafting
  • Make changes to existing CAD plans based on supplied sketch plans.


The successful applicant must have:


  • Previous demonstrated experience in a similar role.
  • Preparing material take-off spreadsheet of the plumbing works based on the tender documents provided by the client & obtaining pricing.
  • Preparing hydraulic design drawings using AutoCAD software based on the design mark-ups.
  • Prepare as built/as constructed drawings for plumbing works based on the mark-up plans from the work site.
  • Review tender invitations & IFC (issue for comment for construction issue) & reporting
  • Exceptional organisational skills, time management skills, written communication skills, interpersonal skills, and high-level computer skills.
  • Experience in a fast-paced environment with multiple stakeholders expecting simultaneous service.
  • Computer literacy and experience working with a variety of data bases.
  • A friendly & outgoing personality to effectively interact and build relationships with employee & consultants.
  • Ability to work independently and also as a team, with willingness to use initiate and solve problems.
  • Ability to multitask and maintain composure when under pressure to meet deadlines.
  • Most importantly, an eye for detail and an ability to assess a problem and think laterally.

The role is full time. We require demonstrated reliability and flexibility in working shift work.
