Electrical Estimator (Electrical Engineer)

BTR (Fiji) Limited based in central Suva offers outsourced business services to organisations located overseas.    

Our client, Aizer Group, is currently recruiting for a highly organised and proficient Electrical Estimator, with proven ability in a similar position whose attention to detail and organisational skills are paramount to the success of this role. 

A self-starter, who is able to work autonomously, will also work in conjunction with the Electrical Team, and will be mainly responsible for the electrical administrative function covering the following key criteria:

 Electrical design (residential & commercial) support

  • Electrical materials take-off
  • Estimating & AutoCAD drawings
  • Drafting changes to existing AutoCAD plans based on Drafted plans

 Key Responsibilities to also include:

 Assist estimators during tendering process

  • Prepare estimates with detailed accurate bill of materials and pricing
  • Prepare project handover folders for presentation to operations teams
  • Document control
  • Liaise and negotiate with suppliers and sub-contractors for pricing
  • Assist with purchasing of materials and equipment for projects
  • Preparation of O&M manuals
  • General administration duties as required
  • Development of Electrical design (residential & commercial)
  • AutoCAD drafting experience (mandatory)
  • Interpretation of sketched plans and drawings

 To be successful in this role, applicants must:

 Hold an Electrical Engineering qualification (desirable, however not essential)

  • Must come with demonstrated experience in a similar role
  • Be able to prepare material take-off spreadsheets for electrical works based on tender documents
  • Be able to draft up and develop electrical design drawings in AutoCAD based on the design mark-ups.
  • Prepare “as built” and/or “as constructed” drawings for electrical works from mark-up plans
  • Have experience reviewing and responding to tender invitations, providing support and advice to Electrical team
  • Be able to review IFC “Issue for Construction” drawings (detailed list of changes) and reporting
  • Have the ability to multitask and maintain composure when under pressure to meet deadlines.
  • Experience working in a fast-paced environment dealing with multiple stakeholders expecting simultaneous service.
  • Must have exceptional organisational and time management skills
  • Must be proficient in both written and verbal communication skills,
  • Show a high level of interpersonal skills
  • Show a willingness to use initiative, troubleshoot and problem solving.
  • Have a high level of computer literacy, and able to adapt to various data base software programs.
  • A friendly and outgoing personality to effectively interact and build relationships with employee and consultants.
  • Ability to work independently whilst working as a team
  • Most importantly, an attention to detail and ability to think laterally.


We are offering a fulltime position, where there is a need for the successful candidate to be reliable and show flexibility in working shift work.

Recent graduate with at least some experience will also be considered.
