The Opportunity

The role oversees the continuing development and integration of the University's HR information systems, with the goal of providing timely, accurate, easy and secure access to comprehensive, integrated, and client focused human resources information. The position provides professional, timely advice and guidance to internal clients on the effective use and application of the HR management information systems (HRMIS). Effective attention to clients' expectation in relation to addressing their needs are met in accordance to the policies and legislative requirements of the University across the region.
The appointee will ensure effective and efficient use of the HR systems/programs provides the right tools for USP staff to perform HR related work processes. In addition, the position provides feedback on the current and future HR systems and information requirements related to the data warehousing activities, information archiving and retrieval, report writing and procedural processes.

Data quality and control as well as the HR metric dashboard reports are designed by this role to provide analyses on KPIs and targets. USP leaders use these reports to engage in assessing the advice given on data management and HR best practices. The incumbent will be required to contribute to the development and implementation HRMIS plans that align to the University's strategic objective by regularly liaising and interacting with counterparts in the Faculty and Sections and with prospective staff across the University region. The incumbent is expected to have demonstrated leadership experience and strong interpersonal and communication capabilities.  
 
 
To be considered for this position, applicants must have:

- Postgraduate qualifications or progress towards Postgraduate
qualifications and extensive relevant experience; or
- Extensive experience and management expertise; or
- An equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or
education/training.
- Experience in supporting a large and complex information system;
- Experience using: Oracle reporting tools and Banner Enterprise
Information System;
- Experience in Data Management and business processing
engineering;
- Be able to work in a demanding environment;
- Ability to analyse and write reports, act as a vendor liaison, deliver
training and presentations to professional peers and work closely with
senior management;
- Skills in using IT Communications systems, networking and data
management systems;
- Excellent inter-personal and communications skills; and
- Able to take initiative, solve problems and work within a team but
operate with minimal supervision to achieve goals and meet
deadlines.  
Preference will be given to applicants:

- With experience in supporting large complex information systems and
Banner Enterprise Information system (HR);
- Although not essential, experience working in the Higher Education
sector will be highly regarded as will a Master's in Computer Science or
Information Systems related discipline.  
 
 
FJ $66,521 to FJ $81,491 per annum  
3 years renewable
